2000 were sold in 1991 and 1000 were sold in 1992 in the United States, each of which came with a numbered dash badge and key fob. Production numbers for Galant VR4s sold elsewhere in the world are unknown but guessed to be a couple thousand in total. Primarily sold in Japan, some were also exported to New Zealand, Australia, and other countries in the area. Some have even managed to make it to Europe as gray market cars.
